Dobson Ranch, one of the Valley's premier homeowners
establishments is pleased to welcome you to the 2006 18th Annual
But It's a Dry Heat/MDA Tennis Classic scheduled May 30-June 3,
2007 This annual event held as part of the 2007 Valley of the Sun
Grand Prix Torunament Circuit, has steadily gained popularity
throughout the Valley, attracting as many as 200 plus entries
participating in singles, doubles, and mixed doubbles play. But
It's a Dry Heat, appropriately named, takes place during the peak
of summer with temperatures much like the competition, RED HOT!
This year, as years past, we are happy to donate a portion of the
proceeds to the Mucscular Dystrophy Association, MDA, a well
rocognized national charity that serves the Valley and the entire
United States. So start heating up your tennis racquets and take
part in this exciting event. And remember, it's a Dry heat!
Pre-Tournament Match Play Drill Clinic & Nutritional Seminar
and Luncheon and Antioxidant Scanning - Sat. May 26, 2007 Drill
Clinic - 8:30-10:30am Only $15 per person. Luncheon, Nutritional
Seminar and Antioxidant Scanning at the Landmark Restaurant. 1pm
Inlcudes a voucher good fro a (1) Hour Private Lesson and 90 minure
Match Play Drill Clinic - All for only $30 Get your strokes tuned
up for the tournament from 8:30-10:30am and then attend a Seminar
Briefing on Antioxdant Nutrition - An innovative look at
antioxidant nutrition that just might change the way you live, play
tennis, and do business. Antioxidant Testing also available. FREE
Player Party/Auction Saturday, June 3, 2006 from 6-8:30pm. Player's
Guests: $6.00 Adults, $4.00 Children under 12 years old. A portion
of the proceeds is earmarked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association
so bring your checkbooks and make your bids. OTHER ACTIVITIES:
-Bring your swim suits and cool off before and after your matches.
-Volley ball - If the weather is nice and you have time between
your matches enjoy some volley ball in our sand volleyball court.
NOTE: La Casita Recreation Ctr. has rest rooms but NOT full locker
facilities. Indoor showers and towels are not available. There are
outdoor showers available pool side. TENNIS COURTS: Dobson Ranch
has 12 lighted hard courts. The tournament will most likely make
use of about 10 courts. The main check-in area is La Casita
Recreation Ctr. with four courts. Additional courts belonging to
the Association will also be utilized throughout the tournament.
AVOIDANCE SCHEDULEING: Please note the tournament committe will
attempt to accommodate some avoidance schedules that players may
have. Nevertheless, please clear your schedules as best as possible
to best expediate play. MATCH SCHEDULING: All players must have a
current USTA membership and be prepared to play as early as
Wednesday evening, May 31, 2006 beginning at 6:00pm. NOTE: All
weekday matches will generally be scheduled at 6 & 8 pm start
times. Saturday and Sunday matches will generally be scheduled in
the morning and/or late afternoon and evening. DIRECTIONS: Dobson
Ranch - La Casita Recreation Ctr. is located near the intersection
of Guadalupe and Alma School Roads. The facility is not visible
form the intersection so PLEASE follow these directions precisely:
-Exit Hwy 60 South onto Alma School Rd. -Take Alma Sch. Rd. South
past Baseline Rd. to Guadalupe. -At Guadalupe make a right hand
turn (West). -Take Guadalupe West to the first trafiic light
(Rogers). -At Rogers make a right (North). -Go North on Rogers
until you get to the second residential street named Nopal. -At
Nopal make a right hand turn (East). -Drive to the end of the
street and you will dead end at la Casita Recreation Center. The
parking lot, swimming pool and four light courts are to your left.
Look for banners and a tournament desk outside the courts under a
